Described by the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung as "an open-minded and intelligent musician, capable of finding new ways of making music", the 21-years-old Spanish violinist Javier Comesaña is the winner of the VI Jascha Heifetz International Violin Competition (2021) and the Prinz von Hessen-Preis, given by the Kronberg Academy. He is also a laureate of the Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition (2021).

“… From our humble point of view, we only can celebrate such a demonstration of imagination and skills, particularly coming from such a young performer! From his eloquent introduction, justifying the combination between Mozart and Brahms he showed an inconceivable maturity for somebody of his age, and after that he confirmed it with his attitude on the stage, his convincing expressiveness and his personal style.” Juan José Roldán, El Correo de Andalucía, 13.06.2021

He was distinguished in 2019 and 2021 as the most outstanding student in his professorship. As a chamber musician, he has performed with different formations in halls such as the National Auditorium of Music, Teatro Real and Casino de Madrid. In 2021 he received, from Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain, the Diploma as Most Outstanding group with piano thanks to his interpretation of the Piano Quintet in A Major "The Trout" by Schubert.

As a soloist, he has played under the direction of conductors such as Pablo González, Andrew Manze, Álvaro Albiach, Modestas Barkauskas, Ivan Monighetti, Borja Quintas and with orchestras such as Camerata Bern, Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, NDR Radiophilharmonie, Stuttgarter Kammerorchester and the Freixenet Symphony Orchestra.

His former teachers are Yuri Managadze and Sergey Teslya. He did his bachelor's degree at the Reina Sofia School of Music in Madrid, under the teaching of Italian maestro Marco Rizzi, and also increased his knowledge in masterclasses conducted by Mihaela Martin, Silvia Marcovici, Miriam Fried and Christoph Poppen, among others.

Javier currently plays a Giovanni Battista Guadagnini 1765, generously loaned by the Fritz Behrens Stiftung.
