Catherina Lendle – violin

Catherina Lendle was born in Saarbrücken in 1982. She studied with Ulf Schneider at the music academies in Detmold (junior student) and Hanover, from 2001 at the Hanover University of Music and Drama, later with Latica Honda-Rosenberg at the Freiburg University of Music and finally, as postgraduate studies, with Nora Chastain at the Winterthur/Zurich University of Music.

She has won several prizes in the national competition “Jugend musiziert”, was a scholarship holder of the Villa Musica Foundation, Mainz, and was awarded 1st prize at the Louis Spohr Competition, Kassel and 2nd prize at the 1st International Violin Competition, Lisbon. Catherina Lendle is a founding member of the Iris Quartet, was a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra in 2003, completed internships with the NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover (2003/04), the WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln (2007/08) and has been a member of the SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg since September 2008.
